We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Finance Risk Officer in Global Corporate Controllers Department to be the 1LoD maintaining and continuously enhancing the operational risk management framework within the business. The role will work closely with regional teams to embed effective risk management practices into day-to-day processes and activities.

 

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is a Director level position within our Risk, Assurance, Governance & Control Job Family which oversees the active assessment and monitoring of operational risk across the Global Finance Division and includes independent testing functions.

What you'll do in the role:

 

  • Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
  • Responsible for and lead aspects of individual and team deliverables and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segments
  • Adhere to the Firm's risk management framework; proactively identify ways to strengthen our control environment.
  • Act as a culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards
  • Assist in analyzing actual or potential operational risk incidents and support recommendations for mitigation measures.
  • Participate in the execution of Operational Risk programs, including Non-Financial Risk Assessment, Business Continuity Planning, Information Security, and Supplier Risk oversight.
  • Support evaluation of control gaps, emerging risks, and trends through analysis of risk data and dashboards.
  • Maintain orderly risk and control documentation to facilitate governance, management reporting, and regulatory-related submissions.
  • Support preparation of thematic risk analyses and escalation materials.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Infrastructure teams to ensure consistent implementation of risk requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and risk-related projects.

 

What you'll bring to the role:

 

  • In-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment
  • Ability to operate independently with respect to most job responsibilities and with sound judgment and proactive issue identification.
  • Solid understanding of operational risk concepts, frameworks, and controls.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Chinese.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Experience in operational risk, audit, compliance, or related financial services.
  • Experience in business analysis, process improvement, or technology-related controls is a plus.
  • At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
