We're seeking someone to join our team as a Technical Business Analyst in Investment Management Technology to bridge the gap between IT and the business by translating business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

 

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Tech BA position at Associate level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models, and optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Contribute to the function through a range of operational activities and project tasks, developing an understanding of the business and operating environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring they are accurately translated into technical specifications.
  • Design and refine functional specifications, use cases, and user stories to guide application development efforts.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive consensus among stakeholders on project scope and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, data flow diagrams, and other documentation to support project initiatives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and impact analysis to assess the potential benefits and risks of proposed solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project deliverables.
  • Support the testing process by developing test scenarios and conducting user acceptance testing to validate solutions meet business requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders on status, risks, and issues.

 

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Ability to engage with the broader team, communicate goals, tasks and deliverables in 1-1 and team meetings.  
  • Working experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, with a focus on technical analysis and requirements gathering, preferably within financial industry
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering technology projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile development.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about complex business problems.
  • Strong ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin 
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.  

 

Preferred:

  • Familiar with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
  • Experience in data modeling, database design, and SQL for data analysis.
