We're seeking someone to join our Technology team as a technology operation team lead in Morgan Stanley Bank International China (MSBIC) to expose to a wide range of business problems and tackle them with innovative solutions.

This is a Lead Infrastructure Production Management & Reliability Engineering position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.

What you'll do in the role:

 

  • Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
  • Understand China commercial bank business, governance, and regulations
  • Understand and will be accountable for bank’s business applications & infrastructure to support the bank as well as the systems facing off to the local regulators
  • Working closely with users and developers for vendor solution planning and integration into Morgan Stanley (MS) China plant.
  • Doing project management of set-ups in coordination with MS tech silos
  • Hands on application support for interfaces between MS and vendor systems.
  • Setting up appropriate observability management for interfaces, defining SLOs/SLIs.
  • Design solutions using defined principles to new business expansion areas working in agile squads
  • Building support model for China network interfaces and data transfers.

 

 

What you'll bring to the role: 

 

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.
  • Advanced understanding of business line and discipline with some knowledge of competitive environment and other disciplines.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university and experienced in professional  Information Technology roles.
  • Well understand SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) principles and experience applying the principles to day-to-day work. 
  • Experience supporting critical financial front office systems in timely manner. 
  • Experience delivering business software and performing a least two of the following functions: requirements gathering, development, testing, production deployment, user support or product documentation.
  • Competence using the Linux platform, including creating basic shell scripts and awareness of fundamental concepts such as processes and file handles.
  • Good understanding of software version control concepts such as branching, merging and conflict resolution, along with hands-on use of a VCS tool such as Git, Subversion or Perforce.
  • Practice with an iterative, delivery-focused development process like Agile or continuous integration.
  • Basic understanding of the role of financial services in the global economy and Morgan Stanley's core businesses.
  • Ability to work comfortably in an environment that balances the innovative atmosphere of a nimble technology organization with the controls and processes of a highly regulated financial services firm.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
